چکیده

Numerical Relativity (NR) uses advanced numerical techniques in supercomputers to simulate the relativistic, strong-field dynam s and radiation of merging compact binaries, such as black holes and neutron tars, and oth r s milar phenomena that are governed by E nstein's th ory of General R lativi y (GR). Analytical relativity (AR) metho s, based on Po -Newtonian exp ns ons of the GR qua ion nd black-hole perturbation theory, ar also us d to study respectfully the early phases of t e inspiral of compact object binaries and the resulting black-hole remnant. The RIT's Numerical Relativity group is one of the largest and internationally renown group in the modeling and simulation of compact binaries in extreme astrophysical environments. The group contributed to the 2005's breakthrough in this field (e.g. see for ex mple the moving puncture [1] approach), which have opened new frontiers in gravitational wave astrophysics. The oving puncture app oach has perm tted the first calculations gravitatio al radia n from merg ng black holes with arbitrary masses abd spins, th disc very of rg g avit tion l-r diation r coils (up to 4000 km/s) from merging pinning supe assiv black-hol s, the study of spin y amics effects, such s spin-flip , p ecession and hang-up o bits and extreme mass-ratio binaries.
